UPCOMING COACHES Jonathan Roberts: January 4th-5th
This is the most common type of class offered at South Coast Dancesport, and the basis for nearly 95% of our students’ instruction. Private lessons are offered at all times of the day, from 12 o’clock noon till 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturdays, by appointment. Within their private lessons, students have the opportunity to focus on one dance or several, to prepare a single dance for an event or develop a broad range of skills to serve them in any social setting. Teachers and students have access to any music they would like and have ample floor space within which to learn progressive, travelling dances like the Foxtrot or Waltz or focus on the more sensual, club-style dances like the Salsa, Cha-Cha or Swing. At South Coast Dancesport, learning within the private lesson format is considered the ‘speed teaching’ method of instruction because of the rapid improvement students make from lesson to lesson.
Group classes at South Coast Dancesport are the perfect complement to your private lessons. These classes vary in content from day to day depending both on the composition of the class and the dance being taught. Instructors rotate, so you will have the opportunity to experience the exceptional teaching skills of each of our professionals. Each dance is taken from the very beginning as students are given a brief history of the dance as well as the type of music most commonly played. The 7:00 p.m. group classes are taught daily and are designed for ALL levels, while the 7:45 p.m. calsses are taught at the intermediate level. Whatever your level may be, our group classes will truly lay a foundation you will remember. Basic technique and social steps are the order of the day; singles and couples are welcome.
